Venezuelan London-based multi-hyphenate Pao Pestana has returned with her high-energy new single, NMIGO. The production is insanely good on this one, mixing ominous synth pulses, thick basslines, and an overwhelming Latin rhythm like never before. Also included are thundering drums. Pestana’s vocals sound bold with a lot of dynamics behind them.
NMIGO (a play on the Spanish word ‘enemigo’ meaning ‘enemy’) celebrates the power of women and their determination to achieve their goals. It was written just after Pestana was deceived by a man in a business situation. The result is a cathartic release of energy that empowers, motivates, and excites.
