All Of The Girls You Loved Before was intended to appear on Taylor Swift’s Lover album, but it failed to make the cut. She has now released the track as a way to say thanks to the people who support her.
The song begins with Taylor singing about how she and the man she loves once lived completely separate lives. While both of them had previous relationships that didn’t work out, the stars aligned and their paths crossed. Taylor doesn’t hate the girls her man dated before, in fact, she appreciates them. They’re what brought them together.
Musically, All Of The Girls You Loved Before remains striking with its intricate drum loop and melodic keyboard work. Taylor’s signature voice accompanies the soundscape really well.
