Lizzy McAlpine released a new rendition of her hit song ceilings in early April. It consists of quiet soundscapes that unfold slowly, but give the vocals all the support they need. I particularly like the ending, when the melody really starts to catch on.
ceilings evokes memories of a past relationship. The singer wrote it after she had broken up with someone and then went to London for three months to, not escape that relationship, but also, sort of, do that.
Lizy manages to bring nostalgia to the forefront here surprisingly well. She remains one of today’s most creative pop stars. Check out the new rendition of ceilings below!
