Joan & The Giants, a renowned alt-pop indie band from Boorloo/Perth, have released a new song, Cool Kid. It’s characterized by solid guitar work and drumming. The production carries some nice energy and progresses beautifully. Particularly, when the chorus kicks in, you’ll feel alive. I also like how the last section adds an extra dimension to the song.
Cool Kid deals with the aftermath of coming out. It was one of the scariest things lead woman Grace Newton-Wordsworth has ever done because she grew up feeling ashamed about her sexuality. She was raised in a loving home, but her parents also held strong Christian beliefs, and she learned that being gay or queer was sinful. Thankfully, she met some queer friends who encouraged her to embrace her sexuality and be proud of it.
