Orlando is an American synth pop/rock band based in New York City that plays synth pop/rock music. Their latest single, Choke, ebbs and flows in a way that really catches the ear. I particularly enjoy the synth-driven soundscape here, because it’s so unique. Even though the arrangement may be minimalist, it still provides an immersive experience.
Choke depicts the worst breakup you can imagine. The song’s lyrics are deep, and understanding them fully takes time, but that’s just how it should be. Orlando wants to create timeless music, not something that’s simplistic.
