Through the crackles of vinyl and the rummaging of vintage cassette tapes, Kohla crafts a sound that’s timeless and futuristic at the same time. Her latest single, Lovebites, has forward-thinking chilled beats similar to Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, and Maggie Rogers. It catches your attention from the very beginning. The vocals dance freely and are bursting with charisma.
Kohla wrote Lovebites spontaneously after seeing an Instagram photo of her ex. They parted ways amicably, with him citing he wasn’t in a good place mentally. However, the photo Kohla saw showed him smiling and socializing with friends. It made her wonder: had he told the truth? Or did this just serve as social validation?
