Sophia Gripari and LEV have been writing music together for over four years, and finally decided it was time to put their voices together on the same track, releasing Grind Your Teeth, their first duet. It sounds quirky and carries a strong catchy quality thanks to its indie pop influences. For some minutes, you feel as if you’re in an air balloon flying to a distant land. The production shines especially during the chorus.
Grind Your Teeth discusses how even if you think you’ve moved on, your subconscious won’t let you do so, and those feelings will hit you in the most visceral manner when you least expect it. The lyrics have an interesting balancing act between nostalgia and discomfort.
