Often, it’s the simplest emotions that are most powerful. Danish artist YDEA uses her nuanced artistic skills to explore the human condition in a heartfelt, introspective manner. Her debut single, Forest Fire, has lyrics that offer deep thought and make you reflect on life’s many facets. It talks, for example, about rebirth and becoming empowered. We all face challenges, but it’s how we deal with them that matters. You can keep your head down for a long time, but you can also believe things will work out. And this second option is what YDEA wants to present to you.
Forest Fire features amazing musical production and alt-pop influences. I’m particularly impressed by how the sound intensifies and still stays balanced. YDEA’s performance deserves praise, as she infuses every line with emotion.
