Sophie Said hails from New York City and is a singer and songwriter. Her latest single, small talk, oozes energy with its soulful elements. A lot of positive things can be said about the sound. I really like the synthesizers used here, for example. The vocals are a real plus, as they remain very in tune.
Said recorded this song to celebrate 6 months of sobriety after nearly 5 years of addiction. It explores her inner experiences as well as more existential ones that all humans can relate to. She chose the title small talk because its lyrical content is exactly the opposite.
