Nika Fazeli and Halsey Bousquet make up indie band saturn 17. Their latest single, magazine, features cool guitar-driven instrumentation. Its sound will quickly win you over because of how cool it is. I consider the vocals to be unique.
Several things influenced saturn 17’s magazine, including their love for certain male rock/pop bands, and their desire to present themselves as rock stars. Due to this, they decided it would be cool to write a song about “stan culture” from a queer perspective. magazine plays with gender roles and preconceived notions of gender.
