Australian singer-songwriter Lenka releases her new single, Silhouette. Its lyrics paint a vivid picture of feeling numb and fading away. The metaphor of becoming a ‘silhouette’ is a clever way to capture that desire to escape reality and retreat into the shadows.
Sonically Silhouette takes inspiration from soulful 80s synth pop icons such as Eurythmics, The Pointer Sisters and Pat Benatar. Crisp synths and catchy guitar riffs create a dreamy retro soundscape. The melody is really uplifting. Lenka’s signature vocals move over the instrumental, reinforcing the song’s meaning
