In her last relationship, Libby Jade noticed she was walking on eggshells, never knowing what mood her partner was going to be in from one day to the next. She eventually got unstuck (aka they broke up), but that unsettling feeling of being emotionally tossed around lingered. The singer twisted that ugly, gut-wrenching feeling into a playful, guitar-driven, nostalgia-infused single, titled Moods, with help from her friend and producer in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
At its core, the song sends an empowering message to anyone who has ever been in an unstable relationship. It implies that breaking free and choosing yourself is the best course of action. I think Libby has a valid point.
