Singer-songwriter Maartje releases her new Dutch single, Dunne Lijn. It uses energetic synths to quickly build tension. The chorus is not only catchy, but makes you want to pay attention to every detail. The vocals are crystal-clear, and to me, they’re what give this song its definite character.
In Dunne Lijn, Maartje is trying to figure out what it means to want to be someone rather than be with someone. The song describes a queer experience and the nuance that goes along with it.
