LAKA is a Latin pop singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles whose fusion of American and Latin influences appeals to a worldwide audience. She releases her debut single, Claw Marks. Its lyrics discuss internal conflict. LAKA talks about having “slippery hands” and leaving “claw marks” from trying to hold on when she should let go. There’s a fear of change and being swept away by the unknown.
Claw Marks has some experimental vibes running through it, kinda made me think of ROSALIA’s work. But LAKA still brings her very own individual style to the table. I’m really digging how the sound switches up constantly, preventing things from becoming stagnant. Definitely a bold choice.
Since this is only the beginning for LAKA, you can bet more exciting things are on the way. She’s definitely someone to pay attention to. Check out Claw Marks below!
