The talented Windred-Wornes sisters, who make up the indie folk duo Charm of Finches, recently released their emotive new single Atlantis. Mabel and Ivy, originally from Melbourne, Australia, wrote it while sequestered in rural Nova Scotia, Canada during the winter of 2022.
The duo worked with acclaimed Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell to develop the moody, atmospheric track. Atlantis is accompanied by an arresting music video filmed on a frozen lake near the studio where they spent four weeks recording. The setting serves as an appropriate metaphor for the song’s themes of being immersed in raw emotion and “sinking into dark places.”
Spellbinding vocals and haunting strings contribute to the sound’s glowing effect. Particularly when the chorus kicks in, its magic will enchant you. So start listening below!
