Bad Sounds’ new single On The Ropes represents “yet another left turn” in their catalog. However, it still features their signature attributes like personal lyrics and upbeat melodies that listeners have come to know and love. In their own words, On The Ropes “somehow stick[s] out as the coolest, and least cool thing they’ve ever done”.
Calm vocals give the tune a smooth, mystical quality. At the same time, the driving rhythm and catchy choruses ground the song in an accessible pop sensibility.
