Bedtime Riot, the alternative pop/rock venture of Mori Einsidler, has just released her debut single, Thorn. The song boasts melodies that aren’t just infectious but also precisely tailored for radio appeal. Yet, it’s the sudden introduction of the electric guitar around the 2:33 mark that adds a surprising layer of tension. The vocals alternate between mellow and dynamic.
Thorn is the first song Riot wrote after coming out as queer. Because of this, the lyrics are very heartfelt, and they easily speak to the heart.
