Jonathan Brenner is an Atlanta-based singer-songwriter who tends to be hard to categorize. Why? Well, it’s because he’s a fan of mixing influences. Among the genres Jonathan plays are pop, country, folk, Americana, and jazz. On Instagram Success, the rising star puts his creative skills to the test. And I’m totally on board with everything he does.
Eleven tracks make up the project. The titles already give away what Jonathan intends to discuss: how art is perceived today. It isn’t just this story he has to tell; he has dozens more. Intricate love storylines unfold in songs such as Key To My Heart and Hangin’ on the Edge over You. I’m pleased with the overall thematical variety. I believe Jonathan stands for love and peace, and a world in which all good music is heard fair and square.
Sonically, Instagram Success makes much noise. Ride That Money Train, for example, is a song with lots of lavish instrumental qualities. Silly Little Habit also caught my interest because it hits the mark exactly as it should. Slick funky vibes permeate this song.
Jonathan scores once more. Instagram Success is likely to be successful beyond social media. I can only imagine how these songs are live. Yeay, that must be awesome.
