Alba Rose from Auckland, New Zealand, focuses on indie-soul and electronica. She releases her new single, Home. What this song does well is emphasizing emotion. Its moody melodies dance around the laid-back groove like mermaids. The harmonic layers in the chorus ground the sound even further.
Written during the early months of 2023 when the air was turning cooler and big changes were on the horizon, Home celebrates what has been accomplished instead of dwelling on what hasn’t been reached. This mindset, if you look at it generally, is good. There are times when you need to be proud of yourself and build from there.
