Holding On is Frances Whitney’s follow-up to Easy Street. It shares some similarities with its predecessor, but sounds more vibrant this time around. We like the rhythm the guitar holds on to. The chorus has been created in a modern way so that it’ll still sound relevant ten years from now.
Whitney wrote Holding On about dating a fellow creative. She saw this person as profound, inspiring, and completely unsustainable. However, the singer knew deep down they weren’t meant to be. So, yes, it didn’t play out like a fairy tale.
