Kathy Katouzi’s music traces her journey from the restrictive norms of Iran to the expressive freedom of Toronto, a narrative of emancipation and self-discovery. She shares AFTERPARTY. It has indie pop production with a lot of punch. We love the way the drums transform the sound when they come in. The vocals, which sound modulated, score 10/10 at every turn.
AFTERPARTY articulates Kathy’s frustration with a toxic past and the catharsis of finally letting go. She feels reborn and wants to share that with us. The lyrics also inspire to move forward confidently.
