For her latest single Skillz, Taylor B-W teams up with London-based DnB producer WUFO after a 12-month hiatus. Over the course of the song, there’s a consistent theme of encouragement, both self-directed and aimed at the listener. Lines such as “Show me what have you been hiding?” and “I know you have a fire within you” indicate that you need to go for what you want.
Skillz is electronic in melodic elements, but Drum N Bass in rhythm. I like the chorus, because it embraces catchiness in all its splendor. The vocals conjure a dreamy feeling in their harmony.
Taylor B-W’s music does what it should do. Skillz definitely shows off the artist’s skills. Check it out below!
