Last June, singer-songwriter Stasi Mai released her new single, Loved You Bad. Here, she struggles with feelings of hurt and nostalgia as she comes to terms with the end of a relationship and the realization that the person she desired has found happiness elsewhere. The lyrics accurately summarize the modern breakup.
Loved You Bad is primarily fueled by guitar and drums. I really like how the vocals take hold of their own space over the backdrop as they ascend above it. The chorus continues to be a highlight.
