Mari Sitzmann is a twenty-one-year-old artist born and raised in the Bay Area, California. She releases her new single, Haunt Me. Its lyrics recount the aftermath of a toxic relationship where Sitzmann felt deeply hurt and changed by her lover’s actions. Sitzmann sings about feeling betrayed, having been stripped of innocence and youth. Despite trying to move on, she’s haunted by memories and reminders of her ex-partner in everyday life.
Haunt Me features atmospheric indie production, where emotion is the main focus. I like the vocal movement, as it ensures that things remain stable. The attention given to each detail is apparent as well.
