The song speaks of escapism, self-destruction, and freeing yourself from emotional pain. It clearly implies that sometimes you just want to feel numb regardless of whether things are good or bad.
Another High has pounding alt-pop production. Powered by powerful singing, things get compelling pretty quickly. The chorus has the kind of vibe a lot of people are looking for.
