London-based singer/songwriter Amethyst is certainly worth putting on your radar. She shares her new EP Daydreaming alongside focus track Loving is a Crime. It tells the story of a painful love that shattered her heart. Unfortunately, she has not been able to cut the connection with the person who has been so hurtful thus far. However, she will keep trying because she wants to forget everything.
Loving is a Crime is typical R&B, but with enough nuances to make it a little different, so you can expect something worthwhile. The vocals are gentle, twining with the backdrop as if they form one. Layers of harmony in the chorus made it work well.
Amethyst keeps things personal, while also making them understandable. That’s not something many artists are able to mirror. Outside of that, Amethyst is a strong musician. Check out Loving is a Crime below!
