Scotland’s Emma Miller is aware she really has something to say. In her new single, Downstairs, she pours her heart out. It’s about feeling trapped by failure. The thought you’re falling keeps ringing through your head. There’s a lot of sadness involved and that’s certainly not easy. Learning to deal with it just doesn’t sound realistic. You desperately want to feel happy again.
Downstairs has melodies that slowly stick together. I like how it builds up cinematically and how, by using synthesizers, it differentiates itself from previous indie endeavors. The vocals are more than just beautiful, but really very convincing.
I’d like to conclude by saying that Emma makes beautiful music that will be with you forever. Believe me, she performs super well. Check out Downstairs below!
