Rising British star EDA NIVES unveils MAD. The song is about someone manipulative and disrespectful she once loved. NIVES details how she left this person, labeled as ‘rotten’ and ‘beastly’ by her friends. In a way, it shows the contrast between initial infatuation and later awareness of unhealthy chemistry.
Solid soul grooves and convincing alt-pop melodics turn up the sound. Within the chorus, a parade of infectious motifs abound. The vocals sway from note to note, so things never become monotonous, but rather varied.
