Hattie was born out of the mind of Melissa Kaitlyn Carter, a Brooklyn-based singer, songwriter, and audio engineer. She releases her new single, Aftermath, co-produced by Thelma. It’s about celebrating who you are, even when you break up with someone. You have to continue to embrace your positive traits, it also supports you in the healing process.
The song’s production echoes styles of Dirty Projectors and Sylvan Esso. This means you can expect a consistent sound. I love the technical vocal layering that dances over a landscape of electronic waves.
