Acclaimed Canadian folk singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Rose Cousins shares her new single, I Believe in Love (and it’s very hard). The lyrics indicate that being human is already emotionally complicated, and adding the intricacies of relating to another person in the vulnerable realm of romance makes it even more challenging. Love is described as both wondrous and absurd, rife with highs and lows. But Rose stresses that humor makes everything easier.
I Believe in Love (and it’s very hard) has quirky instrumentation. I admire the classical touches that are woven into the more pop-oriented environment. The vocals sound exceptional, placed neatly above the groovy bassline.
