Paweł Ratyński loves nothing more than making music. The rising star follows his heart and isn’t held back by any limitations. He amply shows just that on his latest EP, Tomorrow is a Storm. The title sounds very inviting, because it makes you wonder how things will pan out. Fortunately, this quickly becomes obvious during the opening track, Morning of Hope. The Bossa Nova genre is honored here. Like the characters of Black Orpheus, Morning of Hope signifies the dawning of a new day. It gives you hope and makes you think you can do whatever you want.
The EP continues with the title track. It’s a little slow at times, but this is done with intention. Contrasts play a major role here. Different segments are alternated with each other. As you listen, you feel like walking around the Polish highlands. Just having that idea is cool. The Lost Anthem carries a dystopian theme. It’s made for those who feel lost on this planet. The way the guitar is played promotes positivity. A positivity that you can hold with you for years to come.
Dreamy River represents the path a river takes. Sonically, it underscores that water is special and should not be taken for granted. Along the way, the sound develops beautifully, giving the project a worthy conclusion.
Ratyński excels at playing the guitar and knows how to communicate a complete concept without words. Some people are born with that talent. Check out Tomorrow Is a Storm below!
