Swedish singer-songwriter Sophie Verdonk releases her new single, dream girl. It’s about feeling underappreciated and taken for granted by someone you really cherish. That situation is close to home for Sophie. She went through a time where she felt like the other person in her life didn’t value her as much as she deserved. It was tough for Sophie to deal with. But instead of letting it get her down, she decided to lean on her own strength and independence. Sophie realized that she doesn’t need anyone else to validate her self-worth.
dream girl is musically slow but fascinating. I like how the verses move into an emotionally charged chorus. The vocals are decisive and contribute a great deal of atmosphere to the song.
