Upcoming artist Serena Foster releases her new single, Heartbreaker. During one inspired session in the studio, she wrote the song without any preparation. Sonically, she compares it to the carefree pop stylings of Marina and The Diamonds and Melanie Martinez.
The lyrics talks someone who entices romantic partners but leaves emotional damage. This “heartbreaker” sweeps people into their charismatic spell before suddenly vanishing. They come across as mysterious and unpredictable, slyly seducing others until it’s too late to turn back. While acknowledging the pain they cause, the heartbreaker feels unapologetic, implying that their actions are a response to having been broken in the past.
Whether blasting it at the gym to push through one last exercise or sharing it with friends at a late night hangout, Heartbreaker gains momentum like few songs do. Check it out below!
