Rising star jazzygold releases her new single, ex-friends. Its tackles the realization that it wasn’t past romantic relationships that caused the most pain, but rather the betrayal and negativity from former friends.
During the verses, jazzygold acknowledges the regret of not ending friendships sooner, recognizing the negative impact they had on her life. The pre-chorus hints at feelings of being overlooked or undervalued by these ”friends”, leading to anger and frustration. But there’s some sort of vindication in knowing that karma will eventually catch up with those who wronged jazzygold .
The chorus highlights how ex-friends painted jazzygold as the villain in their stories, putting her in a difficult position. Despite this, she’s determined to rebuild her life and not let these experiences define her.
