Rising singer/songwriter Mia Stegner drops her new single, More Slowly. It explores the challenges of differentiating restlessness from healthy motivation. A central theme is discerning when it’s appropriate to rest versus continuing to push forward. Those living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often experience a peculiar relationship with the concept of time. Symptoms such as time blindness, short attention spans, hyperfixation on certain topics or activities, and dopamine imbalance issues are analyzed throughout the narrative. In the end, Stegner gives an uplifting perspective. She emphasizes that no matter how our minds work or how we navigate the strange nature of existence, we each retain the freedom and power to walk our own paths.
More Slowly sounds convincing. The arrangement allows instruments to unfold at a leisurely pace, building layer upon layer in a manner that keeps you on alert throughout. This approach gives the song an illusion of motion even during more understated moments.
