Since the mid-90s, Tamar Berk has played in bands in Chicago, Portland, and San Diego. That’s Not a Lie is track 2 on her new album Good Times for a Change that came out Sept. 6th. It consists of an organic foundation formed by electric guitar and drums. Across the soundscape, vocals move like travelers. It’s fascinating to witness, to be honest.
That’s Not a Lie talks about communication within relationships and how we deal with truths that aren’t exactly flattering. This can be difficult because you have to admit your actions were wrong. But if you’re with someone who accepts you completely, it shouldn’t be a problem. Life ultimately revolves around learning.
The music video for That’s Not a Lie has a nostalgic undertone and corresponds with the overall theme. Definitely recommended to watch.
