Love and Hate was written by Annika Catharina along with Parker Graye and the producers Dan Botch and Garrett Ward. It’s the third single coming out in 2024 for this up-and-coming country artist from Abbotsford, British Columbia.
The song talks about the repetitive pattern of an unhealthy relationship, marked by frequent fights where boundaries are crossed and sleepless nights ensue. Despite recognizing the potential to make things right, Annika find herself unable to resolve the tension. The relationship is likened to playing with fire, with the inevitable crash when it burns out.
Love and Hate sounds amazing. The guitar riff has a bit of a slickness to it that leads smoothly into the song’s driving drum beat. Right from the start, you can tell this track is going to rock. Annika wastes no time delivering the lyrics with an intensity and passion to match the instrumental’s energy.
