Singer/songwriter Alicia Campbell recently released Floating out of Water, off her debut EP Bathing in Watercolor. It it, she feels like she’s floating and can’t find control, despite trying. Basically, she struggles with her identity, wanting to be someone else but feeling uncertain about it. She also expresses a need for space after giving too much to others, pointing out a challenge in balancing personal boundaries and relationships.
Floating out of Water comprises dreamy folk pop instrumentals, infused with organic influences. I like how the vocals give off a charismatic vibe by just weighting the lyrics slightly more. It obviously works.
