Two Empty Eyes explores the inescapable nature of detachment and isolation. Inge seems to be wrestling with feelings of hollowness and a yearning for interpersonal connection, represented metaphorically by the “two empty eyes” seeking purpose and illumination. Furthermore, there’s an evident reluctance and apprehension toward self-examination, as she avoids all mirrors.
The production on Two Empty Eyes rocks, featuring pop-inspired guitar melodies. The vocals are phenomenal, adding a sparkle of magic to sections like the chorus. It intensifies the emotion behind the lyrics.
