meadowhip is the slinky solo project of Australian singer/songwriter/poet Cara Walkam. She releases her new single, Inside Out. In it, she’s wrestling with her own insecurities and mental barriers, which prevents her from fully letting someone in. She expresses a tendency to keep things vague and avoid emotional intimacy, likely due to past experiences that have taught her to doubt the possibility of being loved fully and unconditionally.
Inside Out is driven by meadowhip’s raw, sultry vocal performance over snapping drums, a pulsating bed of hummed harmonies, and a tinkling vintage upright piano. In addition, you’ll hear inflections of glockenspiel, trumpet and flute. It’s really epic.
