Capturing the weight of the world’s troubles in a catchy pop song is no easy feat. But that’s exactly what singer-songwriter Hanna Mel set out to do with her new single Television. The inspiration struck as she found herself overwhelmed by the onslaught of distressing news about politics and the climate crisis. In response, the idea of portraying herself as a television hit her – a device simply unable to compute everything being broadcast into it.
Motivated by this creative spark, Hanna teamed up with her friend and producer VLOVA to bring Television to life as a genre-defying alt-pop track. It features melodic guitars and bouncy electronics. The vocals sound convincing as they bring forward honest emotion.
