Jo Hill’s latest album girlhood embraces honest storytelling. The lead single, COMING HOME 2 U, encapsulates the project’s central themes of embracing your authentic self while dealing with life’s uncertainties.
The track is all about wearing your vulnerability on your sleeve, but at the same time, being an unapologetic badass. This isn’t easy, of course. It takes time to find the right balance between being open and strong.
The creative process behind girlhood was an organic one, with Jo welcoming the unexpected surprises along the way. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned,” she reflects, “it’s that the best things often happen by accident”.
With a wistful smile, Jo shares her hope for the album’s impact: “This is the album I wish my mum had given me growing up”.
