Toronto-based singer/songwriter Alex Michelle releases her new single, Innocent. It really speaks to anyone who’s ever felt overwhelmed by negative emotions like anger and frustration. The lyrics capture that feeling of being insignificant or powerless in the face of difficult people or challenging life circumstances. But rather than bottling up those feelings, the song is all about allowing yourself to unleash that pent-up energy freely.
The music itself has this incredibly dramatic, almost cinematic quality that exactly matches the intensity of the subject matter. Those soaring violin melodies add so much drive and urgency. And when the backing vocals swell up, you’re embraced by raw emotion.
