Marvelle Oaks is an Indie Rock trio from Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Their music differs slightly from that of most other bands because they like to do their own thing. Don’t you think that’s great?
The trio’s new single is called Flying Dream. It has a pretty quirky sound and was put together pretty quickly. That’s not usually their style, but they went for it this time. The coolest part has to be the guitar riffs, though the drums are no joke either. The vocals are solid and do their job well, fitting nicely with the vibe.
The lyrics speak of a recurring bad dream that a child finally opens up about to their mom, the first person they can truly confide in. The mom offers solace through her experience and wisdom, telling the child to flip the nightmare on its head and “just start flying” instead.
