Singer-songwriter Natasha Hunt Lee continues to promote her upcoming album by releasing its second single Hometown, produced by Gordon and Brandon Shoop (ROLE MODEL, Quinn XCII). It pairs drum & bass vibes with pop sounds in order to make your day better. I truly like how the rhythm pulses just under the piano keys in the verses and increases to a higher level during the chorus. The vocals are dreamy, reflecting the lyrics’ tone.
Hometown examines Lee’s relationship with Los Angeles. Despite her desire to break free, she finds herself inextricably tied to the city where she’s spent most of her life. As she puts it, “I’ve been in the same place almost my entire life.” The song comes with an accompanying visualizer, featuring Lee and producer Shoop driving the length of Los Angeles – from her parents’ home in Santa Monica to her current neighborhood in Silverlake.
