Indie pop artists Madeline and Makk Mikkael team up to release their duet Ugly Feeling. They wrote it on New Year’s Day 2024, as the month of December had been strange for both of them.
Ugly Feeling tackles jealousy and how it can really mess with your head. It’s definitely not making you feel good about yourself. Jealousy just breeds insecurity. You start questioning everything and feeling crappy on the inside.
Ugly Feeling has delicate pop production during the verses. But then when the chorus kicks in, it takes on more of a traditional country flavor. And the vocals have this nice open quality that lets the emotions breathe and flow freely.
