XA’LUM is a versatile artist who embodies the roles of singer, dancer, producer and composer. She releases her new single Beiriña. It feels very experimental, with nothing really comparable to it. Well, you could consider it a mix between Rosalia, Bjork and Charli Xcx, but it remains different. I love the sophisticated electronic elements that warm your soul in between and then pull you back to reality. The vocals echo through the almost fairytale realm with an auto-tune that makes them recognizable as the sun.
Entirely produced and composed by XA’LUM, Beiriña‘s verses draw inspiration from the traditional Galician song Amoriños Collín. It’s cool to hear how XA’LUM has flipped it. She’s genius.
