Noor Shami, known as clovers daughter, is an American-Palestinian singer-songwriter known for her evocative storytelling and delicate blend of indie pop and indie folk influences.
She releases are you coming home? as debut single. It’s about the vulnerability you feel when you lose something and are unable to find the answers you need. In this case it appears to be a relationship that has ended. For clovers’ daughter the whole world seems empty now, because she can no longer express her deep feelings.
This tune has beautiful acoustic guitar tones that glow like stars. The vocals are dreamy, but layered with sincere emotion, giving them a multidimensional texture. During the chorus, things are slightly more dynamic than during the verses, which provides some good contrast.
