Iranian-American artist YaSi began her career in Denver’s music scene before touring across the US and Europe thanks to her infectious stage presence.
A few months ago, she released COLORS!. It has a groove that’s addictive like soda. Although nostalgic in tone, it slays gigantically. The vocals are angelic and float above an oasis of melodies that take you into the soundscape more and more. The chorus feels super catchy.
COLORS! is about dealing with writer’s block. YaSi was totally stuck and couldn’t get the creative flow going. To break through that mental block, she decided to go on a psychedelic trip to New York. And it must have worked, since this track lyrically hits the mark.
