International award winning songwriter Katie Pederson is a songstress with Michigan roots. Back in 2021, she dropped Guard Down. She started writing this song after learning about Brene Brown, an advocate for vulnerability. He says you can live a wholehearted life by letting go. And he’s 100% right. It’s easier to exist when you allow yourself to organize your emotions without judgement.
Guard Down features steady drums and melodic textures that lean towards indie pop music. I like how the chorus builds up, you can hear the emotions swirling around, trying to reach your heart.
